Crossing the Celestial Equator

Carefully lain, whorls of embryonic petals and mothering sepals

prostrated before the vital organs as they bear authority

Each coterie absent of scarlets, violets, cadmium yellows

Rather, green with promises of something full

Sovereignty gestures bursts of movement,

subtle to the naked eye,

vulnerable to the naked touch,

powerful amid the dressed weather

Hours pass, labor pains are revealed

through the pumping, red veins

leaving the apex

Falling onto naked senses,

symbolizing the ancient repetition of painful awakenings,

in light of beauty renewed,

in memory of pasts still seen, felt, and enacted,

And

in anticipation of creation recovered
