Belly: 15 minutes of initial thoughts

It throws back something,

by a body of reflected light

Supposedly,

accurately representing this vital source

against the glass coats

I don’t actually

look

My eyes connect with the soft image,

yes

appraise the grooves

yes

wonder about the bulge,

yes

Yet all of this is performed

by two eye strokes

a haze

detached

An act done apart from all other acts

Easily (un)noticed, easily curtained away

Therefore,

I will not,

gridlock with it

or reveal to others

that I am displeased

or curious about pregnancy,

(despite the promises of 99.98 percent)

when bumping up against it

The nudes of the past

were with curve

with eros

with food

or so the men depict

Their bellies sway

soar

roll

jiggle

down to the earth

Will I allow the reverberations

to disturb the static

of my pleasantly

dis

con

nected

mind and body?
