Certainly, some awareness of the complexity of the biochemical reactions in her body in response to her own emotions, conscious and unconscious, will bring her to an appreciation of this magnificent creation. She may learn to listen to its wisdom. This is her body. This is her greatest gift, pregnant with information she has refused to acknowledge, grief she thought she had forgotten, and joy she has never known. If she can love her own *massa confusa¬†and dedicate herself to its mystery, she may one day find herself smiling from her mirror. She may even come to trust the voice that quietly asks, “Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19)
